Doesnt go anywhere

Its just some powerchords put together... It needs more to it than that, and the melody doesnt make sense. Sorry to sound harsh, I feel it could be improved if you developed it a bit more, maybe with a clean section? Maybe with a second melody? It needs to have some kind of climax to it, instead of just being heavy all the way through.

yeh, i know. i'm pretty new at metal, so it's not so cool as you want to.
this song is very improved as my last ones so i'm improving all the time!
and yeh, i try to get those words stay in my head to know what to do at the next song.

Are these real instruments?

I think this would sound better on real instruments, or maybe theres something a bit too clean about the recording process?

Good arrangement, I was thinking of doing this tune myself at some point. Please check out my stuff and comment back :)

Good.

If you try to keep the input volumes low, and keep the channel volumes down, and then only turn it up in the main mix, that should help with the clipping. Either that or you E.Q. it so that there is less bass. Another technique that might help would be to use a bit more compression maybe? You have to remember that the important thing when recording is to keep the input from clipping, NOT the final volume coming out (altho compression can help with this).

As far as the arrangement goes, I think it would benifit from replacing the piano with a lead guitar (just really for stylistic reasons). The harmonies you've used work well, esp. the half-time style section- VERY METAL! :)

Too many wierd noises.

I dont think its bad, I just think theres not enough of the original in it, maybe you could add the other sections of the piece to take it a bit further? I mean, it is a bit short. Also, the wierd noises in the middle seemed a bit pointless...but maybe I'm missing something?

Creative.

I dont think this has quite the feel of the original :P and I have to say I'm not a fan of techno.

Having said that, its pretty obvious what you're trying to achieve with this, and I think it does what it sets out to do as an arrangement. Its high energy, rhythmic, and melodic. I love the way it builds in the begining, and then the thumping bassline comes it...you've taken the original masterwork, and taken it to a place nobody ever thought it would (or could) go lol and you've succeded!

If you have time, please check out my audio submissions and give feedback, I would really appreciate your thoughts!

Awesome.

I'm not into this style of music, but that doesnt mean I cant appreciate this arrangement. I would never have thought that any classical (incl. baroque, classical...etc...) music would work in a trance setting, and I enjoyed listening.

Hey, if you have time, please check out my audio submissions, I'm doing a series of arrangements for electric guitar, I dont know if you're into rock music so much, but it would be kool to get feedback from a musicians perspective!

Different...

...I dont understand why everyone thinks that your cover should sound like, or have the same artistic aim as the original. I think this version just has a different feel to it, it reminds me of a renaisance type dance, with kinda an upbeat "skip" to it- probably because of the timbre of the instrument you used.

I disagree that you should neccessarily re-record this on another instrument, because this arrangement works on a MicroKing (which, I didnt know existed until now lol), you couldnt use this instrument and have it sound like the original- but if you used a different instrument then it would be a different arrangement.

People should judge the arrangement in context, and not compare it so much to the original.

I have a version of this song, done in electric guitars, and it doesnt sound like the original, nor is it meant to! I would appreciate it if you gave it a listen, I'm interested in peoples thoughts.

Nicely played!

Did you arrange this yourself? I noticed its in the key of E minor, instead of the usual C# minor, which kinda adds a different feel (your melody begins on a B instead of G#, right?). I suppose theres no way to do this on guitar in the original key without huge retuning or transposing it up stupidly high? Or at least not on solo guitar, my arrangement is done on many different guitars, but its in the original key.

I can also tell that there are very few mistakes in this, respect! It also sounds like you're using a pick...an unusual choice given the style. I, personally, would use either fingerpicking or hybrid picking.

In conclusion, a very well thought out and performed arrangement! Worth listening to.

If you have time, check out my version of this song, as I said, its done on many guitars, and its in the original key (I havent even attempted it on one single guitar!). I would like to hear your feedback!

Good

A little strange sounding, but thats because of the backwards sounds etc...other than that the arrangement actually seems to become what its trying to be, with little exception: around the 3.50 minutes mark it does feel like it needs to build and evolve a bit...you build it up with, first the piano sound effects, and then the drums, and when the drums reach their peak, its like you needed to add something there.

Good arrangement, if you have time, please listen to my version of this song. I would be interested to hear your thoughts :)

Maybe a bit too digital?

I understand if these are the instuments you have...it just sounds a bit too computery for me. Having said that, the actual notes themselves were great, and I liked the concept of what you're doing here.

Overall, maybe you shouldn't have relied so much on the tone in some spots, this sounds more like it could become an piece of electronic music. I wouldn't really say this was "metal", but it definitely has its place somewhere. Also, its a little bit fast- which works for the intro section...not sure about the rest.

Sorry, I dont mean to sound harsh with this review, I like the idea, and to a certain extent, the implementation. I just feel it could be improved a bit.

I would be interested to know what you were going for? Other than randomness :P

I have also done a metal version of this song, so feel free to review back, say what you think.
